It’s up! My recent chat with Mark Stay of The Bestseller Experiment podcast! We talked NaNoWriMo (i.e. throwing down 50,000 words of a first draft in the month of November), strategies I adopted to get my novel over the line, writing habits and a whole bunch else. I had great fun 😍
Mark approached me in early December to see if I’d be willing to discuss my experiences, including things covered in my recent blog posts about NaNoWriMo and writing every day. I’m glad he did hit me up while the experience (i.e. the trauma!) was still fresh in my mind, so hopefully my memory and responses were as authentic as possible.
I kicked off the first draft of a novel during NaNoWriMo, hit the 50,000 word target by 30 November, but still had another 10,000 or so words to go. So I kept going, and when we chatted on 9 Dec UK time (10 Dec NZ time), I had only just the day before written The End on the first draft of the as yet untitled first book of The Milverton Mysteries. It doesn’t get much fresher than that!
I had worried I might’ve been a bit manic and rambling, but listening back I reckon I sound at least 80% coherent and not at all unhinged. So we’ll call that a win!
The chat is available to The Bestseller Experiment’s Patreon subscribers, and it is so worth it for all the other Deep Dive episodes. Don’t let my involvement put you off!
