A quick little video I made has just ticked over 500,000 views on TikTok. That’s half a million! Here’s a screenshot of the video’s analytics:
When I first heard the audio, I knew I had to do my own take on it. Wouldn’t you, if you heard reading a book being described as hallucinating wildly while staring at the tattooed shavings of dead trees? It is one very short, very dense sentence! And it obviously sparked the imaginations of so many others in the bookish corner of TikTok known as BookTok, just like it did for me.
You can view the video on TikTok here, or watch below (sound on!):
If you’ve seen the video, did you spot my shameless and very unsubtle bit of product placement? Of course my own cosy murder mystery novel, Murder on Milverton Square, made an appearance!
And if you want to keep seeing me having fun making little videos – mainly about books and writing – be sure to follow me on TikTok @gbralph.
Now, please wish me luck in making another video that tickles the TikTok algorithm and sparks the imaginations of readers on BookTok!
