A fantastical world of myth and magic, a boy with a secret, his best friend, the castle groundskeeper’s hunky son, a prickly prince, mysterious enemies, and a dangerous quest.
Wynd Book Two: The Secret of the Wings is heartfelt, thrilling, and beautifully illustrated. I adored this second volume even more than the first!
Written by James Tynion IV and illustrated by Michael Dialynas, my copy arrived in the post recently and I got stuck in right away.
I absolutely devour stories like this, stories that fill readers with such a sense of wonder that you can’t help turning the pages. And now I can’t wait to see what Wynd and the gang get up to next.
I’m in the process of editing my own YA fantasy adventure with gay main characters, The Pirate and the Baker (working title). It’s so inspiring and motivating to read amazing stories like Wynd, and though it is told via graphic novels, while mine is told via regular novels (written in prose), I like to think they might appeal to a similar group of readers.
