Having a write-up in the newspaper was an author bingo square checked off for me, so it definitely gets a place on my list of 2024 writing highlights. And if that wasn’t enough, it happened twice!

I was interviewed by NZME journalist Ilona Hanne, and her article featured in The New Zealand Herald and the Manawatū Guardian. We discussed, among many other topics: our love of reading, libraries, cosy mysteries, The Milverton Mysteries, fictional cats, local inspiration, finding ways for people to die, writing diverse characters, and the journey from first idea though to publication and beyond.
Then, a little later in the year, I was interviewed again! This time by journalist George Heagney and photographer Warwick Smith. The article featured in both the online and print editions of the Manawatū Standard. We had a great time talking about books, writing, publishing, The Milverton Mysteries, worldbuilding, international readers, cosy mysteries, Agatha Christie, Richard Osman, my upcoming (at the time) book launch, and all the rest.
