It’s once again time for the Sir Julius Vogel Awards, New Zealand’s science fiction and fantasy awards. My story “The Baker’s Son’s Iced Buns” (published in The Law of Mischief anthology) is eligible for entry and I would love your nomination!

Haven’t read it yet? You still can! It’s the first in the anthology, so you can read the whole story by using the “Read Sample” look inside on Amazon. (And then, hopefully you’ll have had such a fun time that you’ll jump on buying the anthology to read the rest of the stories!)
What’s the story about?
“The Baker’s Son’s Iced Buns” by G. B. Ralph tells the tale of an unlikely pair as they fire up their bakery early one market day.
Focused on fulfilling the vast orders and serving the many visitors to his small coastal town, the stubborn baker’s efforts are complicated by a restless juvenile dragon, a well-meaning friend, and the arrival of a handsome stranger. It’ll take more than a touch of magic to get through this chaotic day.
“The Baker’s Son’s Iced Buns” is a tasty little tale with more baked treats than you can shake a wooden spoon at – come and take a bite!
Nominating is open to everyone, and the more nominations a work receives, the more likely it is to be shortlisted for judging. The form takes only a minute or two to complete, and I would be so grateful if you did! Click through to the nomination form:
