Opposites attract? Heated Rivalry vs The Milverton Mysteries

Are these books the most incompatible comparison titles ever?

I had a hilarious chat with friends recently about the overlap (or lack thereof) between Heated Rivalry and The Milverton Mysteries, and so I had to see what Venn had to say about the matter…

Venn diagram comparing Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid and the first Milverton Mystery by G. B. Ralph. On the Heated Rivalry side: steamy, sports, high stakes secret relationship, ice hockey, rivals, cottage, takes place over 9 years. On the Milverton Mystery side: mystery, murder, handsome police officer, cheeky cat, tasty treats, very slow-burn romance, cosy, small town, takes place over 9 days. In the middle: gay, opposites attract.

Opposites attract, right??

There’s not nearly enough overlap here for me to say that if you liked Rachel Reid’s ice hockey romances then you’ll like G. B. Ralph’s cosy murder mysteries (with very slow-burn romance), but you never know!

Here’s a little more about The Milverton Mysteries, so be sure to investigate if it sounds like a bit of you:

The Milverton Mysteries by G. B. Ralph. Book cover images and series blurb. A delightful cosy mystery series set in an enchanting small town nestled amongst stunning New Zealand scenery. Investigate The Milverton Mysteries for a chaotic cast of local busybodies, delicious baked treats, a demanding and disdainful ginger cat, a very slow-burn romance with a rather appealing policeman, and of course… murder!
