Palmy Drag Fest Rainbow Fair and Main Show

Palmy Drag Fest was a hit with events throughout the week bringing in local and international entertainers including Lawrence Chaney (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 Winner), Kween Kong (RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars), Lazy Susan (Drag Race Down Under Season 4 Winner), Kita Mean (Drag Race Down Under Season 1 Winner), Gabriella Labucci, The Tiwhas, and many more!

First up for me on Saturday morning was the Palmy Drag Fest Rainbow Fair where I joined over 50 other stallholders featuring LGBTQ+ creators, products, and services. I had a fantastic day selling and signing books, catching up with readers, and hearing their excitement for my latest book Fright on Stage Right which opens with a drag variety show and a very dramatic on-stage death.

After the Rainbow Fair, it was back to the house for a quick disco nap and costume change before heading to the theatre with my fellow Spice Girls for the drag extravaganza that was the Palmy Drag Fest Main Show!

I wonder where this author gets his ideas…

It was another full house at The Regent for the Main Show and it was more fabulous than ever! Amazing work from the queens, the kings, my very talented friends, and everyone else backstage.

The big finale!

P.S. No drag performers were harmed in the making of this production.

Do you want to read the book the may or may not have drawn inspiration from such events in previous years?

Fright on Stage Right (A Milverton Mystery) by G. B. Ralph. Cover image and description/blurb. It’s opening night at the theatre and Addison Harper has front-row seats with Sergeant Jake Murphy. This might just be his perfect date. The variety show promises spooky Halloween fun, ghoulish drag queens, frightening musical numbers, and the scariest thing of all: audience participation. Of course, the unlucky victim dragged from the safety of his seat is a mortified Addison. In a production full of twists and turns, he has no idea what’s coming next but nobody could have anticipated witnessing a sudden, absolutely unscripted, and very real death. A dreadful accident? Or was it foul play? As the curtain falls before a horror-struck audience, Addison Harper finds himself once again in the spotlight at centre stage.
