My final writing highlight of 2024 has to be the success of my author mailing list!
It’s always wonderful hearing back from readers, both those who have been following along for months or years and those who have stumbled across me and my books more recently.
I don’t think I can overstate how important my mailing list has been for me and my writing career. It’s the best, most reliable way for me to stay in contact with readers. I know my email newsletters are landing safely in everyone’s inboxes without any fickle social media algorithms snatching them away, never to be seen again. And that’s not even factoring in all the recent upheaval across almost every social media platform, which only serves to reinforce the importance of my mailing list!
So, I hear you asking, “Where do I sign up?” That’s an easy one! Right here:
You’ll get a bunch of short stories from me right away, each one exclusive to those on my mailing list. Then it’ll be emails from me twice a month where I share writing and publishing updates, books I’m reading, new releases from other authors, pictures of Ted (the cat), answers to questions from readers, and whatever else comes along. I’d love to have you on board!

After seeing this image, you may be wondering what a cat (his name is Ted) and a book (my latest release Death in Douglas Glade) have to do with my mailing list. That is a very valid thing to wonder on your part. I didn’t think sharing a picture of an email inbox was all that interesting, so I bribed Ted with treats to nab this shot, and here we are. I hope you’ll forgive me!
