Bluesky, here we go

It was only a couple of weeks ago that I was talking about the release of Meta’s text-based social media app, Threads. And as of yesterday, I’ve gained access to another Twitter (or is it X now?) competitor, Bluesky. This one is from Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey, and is currently invite only. Unfortunately it looks like I’ll have to wait a while before I’ll have any invite codes to give out.

I won’t go into the details, or the various merits and pitfalls of each platform, but I just wanted to say that I’m there on Bluesky now too (@gbralph.bsky.social)! I’m keen to maintain connections across the ever-dispersing social web, so no matter which space you’re investigating, let’s follow each other!

Social media platforms

These are platforms I’ve been on for a while, which I use to varying degrees, and may or may not play a part in my future social media time:

Instagram (@gbralph_)
TikTok (@gbralph)
Twitter (@gbralph)
Facebook (@gbralph)

These are newer platforms that I’ve been investigating over recent weeks, and it remains to be seen which (if any) will go the distance:

Threads (@gbralph_)
Bluesky Social (@gbralph.bsky.social)
Mastodon (@gbralph@mastodon.nz)
Post (@gbralph)
Substack (@gbralph)

Book-related platforms

These are the more book-focused places of the internet where you can find and follow me (which often means getting notified of new book releases):

Amazon (G B Ralph)
Goodreads (@gbralph)
The StoryGraph (@gbralph)
BookBub (@gbralph)

The #1 option

Or, better yet, jump on my mailing list! I’d love to have you on board. It is always my top priority when keeping in contact with readers because it’s something I control and can’t be taken away by the whims of any eccentric billionaires.

I hope to see you there!
